Do it the best way!

Daniel 1:20"And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm."

Everette Webb died at the age of 80, having received many professional commendations. He was one of the four aeronautical engineers who designed the world's first jumbo jet, the Boeing 747. Webb's daughter said," He was a problem solver with an intricate mind that could consider every possibility before making a decision. He wasn't just interested in doing things better, he wanted them done the best way."

As a school kid, I remember rummaging into the books in the library near my home to look for materials pertaining to the composition that I had to submit. I took the extra effort because I wanted my composition to be the best. I was the school topper in advanced English during my 10 th grade examination. I do not mention these achievements to brag about myself but I do want to emphasize that nothing comes without effort. God surely blesses a person who would stretch out and who would want nothing but the best. C.S. Lewis wrote, "If only the will to walk is there - God is pleased with our stumbles."

I was marveled and awe struck by the dedication of the world renowned author Jeffrey Archer. Did you know this famous man, who has the hearts of many at his feet, hand writes the drafts of his book? Living in this era of laptops, this man spends thousands of hours writing and rewriting the drafts for many years until finally he comes up with the 'final copy.' He says, "I like handwriting. You get a sense it's real, it's yours and there is no one else but just you and your brain." My, this is commitment! Friend, be it in the spiritual circle or outside, those who want the best and strive hard to get it are definitely blessed.

Young people, I want to speak with you! Spending endless hours yakking on the phone, playing those stupid video games, watching those insipid TV programs or sprawling in those plush hotel lobbies cannot take you to the TOP. It is only hard workers who can experience the ecstasy of success. Many of the young professionals do not even read the daily newspapers. Not many care to gather information about the organization before stepping into the interviewer's room. No wonder there is failure! Step out to excel!

After my encounter with Jesus, my love and desire for Him consumed all my energy and I stopped reading secular magazines but I delved deep into the depths of the Bible. Give your best time, and put in your best efforts for God and watch the blessings unfold in your life!
