MORNING PRAYER BRINGS VICTORY

Mark 1:35 "Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed."

"Quiet time with God is essential in order to calm our raging spirits and emotions. "

Rev. Billy Graham says, "Happy is the man who has learned the secret of coming to God in daily prayer. Fifteen minutes alone with God every morning before you start the day can change circumstances and remove mountains! But all of this happiness and all of these unlimited benefits which flow from the storehouse of heaven are contingent upon our relationship with God. Absolute dependency and absolutely yielding to His will are the conditions of being His child."
I have personally enjoyed the benefits of spending the first fruits of the day with the Lord. As a young mother of two children, when my second son was an infant, I would put him over my shoulder, move into a separate room in the wee hours of the morning and pray. I was very determined about sticking to my prayer timings in the morning and I still am, which is one of the main reason I am able to overcome the many hurdles and pressures in the ministry. I would prepare the previous evening to wake up early the next morning to meet 'My King.' Nothing happens without the unwavering will to do it at any cost.
Helen Roseware while she was working as a missionary doctor in Africa, during the initial days she was struggling hard to maintain fellowship with God. Loads of work and lack of people kept her on her toes all the time before she realized that she was moving far away from God. She then determined to wake up at 5.30 am for prayers and no sooner she lit the lantern at 5.30 am, there would be a knock at the door. The moment they saw light in her room, they either called her for some emergency in the general hospital or maternity compound. She told God that she would now wake up at 4.30 am but she heard the same knock on the door summoning her for an emergency in the hospital. She finally worked out means to share the work and thereby found time to be with God, this gave her immense strength to do her work and also rest in Him.
We see that Jesus was able to handle the pressures of his ministry because he had a strong prayer life. Jesus took time out of His busy schedule to talk with God. We read in our scripture how Jesus had a habit of getting up early to spend time alone with God, away from everyone and everything. He always found a time and a place to be alone with His Father.
We must spend quiet time with God in prayer in the morning to draw upon His power, say 'NO' to every interruption.
