TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary”
(Psalm 107:2, AMP)

TODAY’S WORD

Notice that today’s scripture doesn’t say, “Let the redeemed of the Lord think so.” Or, “Let the redeemed believe so.” Of course, it’s important to think right and believe right, but something supernatural happens when we open our mouths and declare a thing. You don’t even have to say it to anyone else, you can just say it to yourself — driving to work or in the shower — you can say, “The economy may be low, but I am blessed. I am prosperous. I will lend and not borrow.” “I may have had some setbacks, but I know those setbacks are a setup for a comeback! This is still going to be my best year so far. The favor of God is turning things around.” You are prophesying your future.

Remember, when you say what the Lord has done for you, when you declare that you are redeemed, you are opening the door for God to move on your behalf. The scripture tells us that He watches over His Word to perform it. When you declare His Word, when you speak His promises, He is faithful to fulfill them and lead you into victory all the days of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for delivering me and setting me free. I will declare Your goodness. I will declare Your promises. I will declare Your favor so that I can live the good life You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Am

Nothing Can Hold You Back

“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree...”
(Psalm 92:12, NKJ)

TODAY’S WORD

Have you ever seen a palm tree in the midst of a great storm? That tree may be bent so far over that it’s almost touching the ground, but when the wind finally stops, that palm tree bounces right back up. What’s interesting is that while that palm tree is hunched over under the pressure of the storm, it is actually growing stronger?

The reason God said we’d flourish like a palm tree is because He knew there would be difficult times. He knew things would come against us to try to steal our joy and victory. God said, “You’re going to be like a palm tree because when the storms of life blow, you are going to come right back up stronger than before.” Nothing can hold you back! No weapon formed against you will prosper.

As you reflect on the events over the last year, remember, the storms you have encountered have only made you stronger. You are wiser, you are more alive, and you are headed for victory. You’re brightest days are right out in front of you! Always remember that with God on your side, nothing can hold you back!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for making me strong in You. I trust that You are working in my life, even in the midst of the storms. I know You will bring me out stronger, wiser and better off than ever before in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Speak to Your Mountains

TODAY’S WORD

Everyone has gone through seasons when the challenges of life feel overwhelming. During those times, it’s easy to be tempted to talk about how bad things are. Maybe you received a bad medical report, or maybe you’re facing a financial obstacle. But the more you talk about something, the bigger it becomes in your mind. Instead, you’ve got to dig your heels in and say, “No, I am not going to give life to that defeat. I am not going to speak sickness over myself. I’m not going to speak lack. I’m not going to speak fear. I’m choosing a different report. I believe the report of the Lord which says I am blessed. I am favored. I am prosperous. I am healthy. I am whole. I’m a victor, not a victim.”

Remember, even if you don’t see how things could ever work out, God does. Speak to those mountains in your life and declare God’s favor over those situations. Instead of talking to God about how big your problems are, talk to your problems about how big your God is! As you speak to your mountains, they will be moved, and you will move forward into the victory God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word which is life to my spirit. I receive Your strength today and choose to speak to the mountains so I can move forward in the victory You have in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Seven New Year Resolutions

I know on January 1^st everybody is busy preparing some resolutions for this New Year. Why do we bother to make New Year’s resolutions in the first place? Why do we feel this need each January 1^st to set new goals? Maybe it is because resolutions help us to identify our priorities. They answer the Question: how do I want to invest my time, energy, money, and talents in this New Year? The New Year reminds us that time is passing. It is up to each of us to maximize the potential of every moment.

I want to share a list of resolutions prepared for this New Year 2012, Called “7-UPS” for the whole Year 2012. No, this has nothing to do with the soft drink. These 7-UPS fall under the heading of attitudes and actions with divine love.

The first is WAKE UP–Begin the day with the Lord. It is His day. Rejoice in it. The second is DRESS-UP–Put on a smile. It improves your looks. It says something about your attitude. The third is SHUT-UP–Watch your tongue. Don’t gossip. Say nice things. Learn to listen. The fourth is STAND-UP–Take a stand for what you believe. Resist evil. Do good. Five, LOOK-UP–Open your eyes to the Lord. After all, He is your only Saviour. Six REACH-UP–Spend time in prayer with your adorations, confessions, thanksgivings and supplications to the Lord. And finally; LIFT-UP–Be available to help those in need–serving, supporting, and sharing. If you’re going to make New Year’s resolutions this year. I believe this list will be helpful to see success in 2012.

Remain

TODAY’S WORD

In life, we all have ups and downs. There are seasons that are more difficult than others, seasons of testing, trials and temptation where our character is being developed and our faith in God is being strengthened. Sometimes it can feel like you are taking two steps forward and then three steps backward. But if we’re not careful, we’ll start thinking that life is always going to be this way. Even in the strong seasons, you'll start looking for things to go wrong.

God doesn’t want us to be living life like a roller coaster. He wants to bring us to a place of stability where we remain strong in Him. Jesus said, “I am the vine. You are the branches. If you abide in me, you will bear much fruit and your fruit will remain.” The word “remain” means “to be fixed, immovable, not affected by circumstances.” If you will just keep abiding in Him, just keep meditating on His Word, He’ll bring you through. He’ll make you strong, He’ll keep you stable, and you’ll keep moving forward into the life of blessing He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, today I set my heart and mind on You knowing that You are good and faithful. I trust that as I seek You and put You first, You will direct my steps. I choose to remain in You and follow Your leading in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

7 MIRACLES

Dear Beloved: miracles for new year

I have learned the hard way that you just can't trust everyone with your private thoughts and personal prayer needs. Many who are in your corner today may be in someone else's corner tomorrow. BUT, YOU DO NEED SOMEONE TO BOND WITH BECAUSE ONE ALONE CANNOT MULTIPLY! It takes two, agreeing in faith, to make the impossible things happen in your life. Jesus teaches this in Matthew 18:19.
I feel impressed to make you aware of SEVEN miraclesthat God wants you to have. As you move in OBEDIENCE to His Word, your faith can change every unpleasant circumstance in your life! But, you must do exactly what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do. God loves everyone, but He is only obligated to the OBEDIENT!
In the holy scriptures, Jesus worked SEVEN unusual miracles that have a definite and special meaning to you, at this moment.

These are for you!

FIRST MIRACLE:
Jesus fed five thousand people with two little fish and five loaves of bread. (Read Matthew 14:17.) The meaning to you is: GOD CAN TAKE ANY SMALL THING THAT YOU HAVE AND PROVIDE FOR YOU, YOUR HOUSE, AND THOSE YOU LOVE.
SECOND MIRACLE:
When the disciples needed money to pay their taxes, Jesus sent Peter fishing, and he caught an unusual fish. The fish had enough gold in its mouth for them to completely pay their taxes. (Read Matthew 17:24-27.) The message to you is: GOD WILL SEND YOU THE MONEY YOU NEED. It will come in a most unusual way—not the way that you thought!

God's ways are not our ways.

THIRD MIRACLE:
When the storm was about to sink the ship and take them all under, Jesus spoke to the storm, "Peace, be still," and the storm ceased! (Mark 4:39.) To you this means: THE STORMS AND SITUATIONS IN YOUR LIFE THAT MAKE YOU FEEL THREATENED CANNOT HARM YOU BECAUSE GOD'S PROTECTION IS AROUND YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD! Be at peace!
FOURTH MIRACLE:
Jesus walked on the water and came to His disciples when they were in trouble. (Read Matthew 14:25-31.) His message to you is: I WILL GIVE YOU THE POWER TO WALK ON TOP OF THE HURTS, SORROWS, AND THINGS THAT TRY TO PULL YOU DOWN. You will walk over what causes others to sink!
FIFTH MIRACLE:
Jesus exercised power over demonic forces and cast them out. (Mark 9:17-29.) His Word to you is: I WILL GIVE YOU POWER OVER EVERY FORCE THAT COMES AGAINST YOU AND THE AUTHORITY TO REBUKE EVIL SPIRITS THAT TRY TO OPPRESS AND HINDER YOUR FINANCES.
SIXTH MIRACLE:

Jesus opened the eyes of the blind. (Read Mark 8:22-25.) To you, he is saying: TRUST AND OBEY THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Your eyes will be opened to blessings like you have never seen before. Some of the dreams you hold dear will come true.

SEVENTH MIRACLE:
A woman touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was healed. (Matthew 9:20-22.) This miracle says to you: DON'T EVER GIVE UP ON YOUR HEALING. No matter what you've been through or how long you have prayed, there's a healing miracle within your reach. Reach for it!
Beloved, God is somehow going to turn the events and problems that have worried and troubled you into wonderful blessings. Believe this. HE TURNS MISTAKES INTO MIRACLES.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might...”
(Micah 3:8, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD

In today’s scripture, Micah knew how to encourage himself in the Lord. He understood how to draw in courage and strength and align himself with God’s purpose for his life. He knew there was power in his words and power in agreeing with God.

It works the same way with us today. Romans 10:9–10 tells us that salvation comes when we believe in Jesus and then declare what we believe. In the same way, we activate the power of God by believing and declaring it. (Job 22:28)

Today, know that God loves you and desires to empower you for every task you face. Receive His strength and activate it by declaring that He is at work in your life by the Holy Spirit! Declare that you are filled with power, strength, justice and wisdom as you face the challenges before you. Believe it, receive it and declare it because He has equipped you to overcome in every area of your life.

Father in heaven, I invite You to flood every area of my being. Fill me with Your strength, peace, joy and power. I declare today that I am strong and equipped in You. I praise You for Your faithfulness and go forth in Your favor. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Is God your leader today? Do you allow Him to lead you in every area of life? A lot of times, people set out in a direction of life, or they make decisions and then “look around” to see where God is. They try to fit Him into their schedule, but really, He should be in charge of our schedules. Or, they ask God to bless their decisions when, instead, we should follow His ways because His ways are already blessed!

Today, instead of incorporating God into your day, ask Him to lead your day. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and mind and see if there are any areas you need to submit to Him. Remember, He is with you and He is for you. When we allow Him to order our steps, when we seek Him first and follow Him as our leader, than nothing can stand in our way! Go out in victory today knowing that He is ordering your steps.

The Way

Do you need direction in your life today? Not only is Jesus the Way to life in eternity, but Jesus is the way to everything you need in this life here on earth. Do you need to know the way out of debt? Look to the Father through Jesus. Do you need to know the way to having better relationships...the way to overcome an addiction...to live in peace and joy?

When you know Jesus, you know the Way!
No matter what you are facing today, no matter what challenges or obstacles are in your life, He will make a way for you even when you don’t see how. God loves you so much that He wants to strengthen and empower you to live in total victory. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, to this earth — to show you the way to live an abundant life! Open your heart today and receive all that God has given you through Jesus. His is the way, and He made a way for you to live in victory in every area of your life!

It’s Never too Late

TODAY’S WORD

Sometimes, it’s easy to look at your circumstances in the natural and think, “I’ve missed my opportunity. I’m too old. It’s too late. I’ve messed up too much.” But with God, there’s always another opportunity. He created you on purpose and for a purpose. He’s the one who placed those dreams and desires on the inside of you. He hasn’t given up on those dreams, and you shouldn’t either! It’s never too late for God, which means it’s never too late for you!

I don’t know about you, but I have never heard of a single story, not in the Bible nor in our time, where God gave someone a dream and fulfilled it on the same day. No, our lives are designed with seasons and processes to build our faith and prepare us for the next step. It takes faith, it takes obedience, and it takes patience to see God’s promises come to pass.

Today, no matter where you are in your journey of faith, just focus on moving forward. God hasn’t given up on you! Trust that He has you in the right place at the right time. Trust that He is working all things together for your good. Trust that new doors are opening. Choose faith and patience, and you will inherit His promises because it’s never too late for you to embrace the good things God has in store for you!

Dreams in the Making

“ ‘Here comes that dreamer!’ they said to each other”
(Genesis, 37:19, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD

In scripture, Joseph was a dreamer. His dreams were so real that he just had to tell others about them. Not everyone was as excited about Joseph’s dreams as he was, but that didn’t keep him from dreaming. It didn’t keep him from believing what was in his heart. When opposition came, when his family turned their back on him, when he was falsely accused and thrown into prison, he kept on dreaming. His life didn’t take the route he had expected, but God was working behind the scenes realigning his steps until those dreams in his heart became reality.

Today, I want to encourage you, no matter what route your life has taken, no matter who has turned their back on you, no matter what anyone else has said about you, those God-given dreams in your heart are still in the making. Your part is to keep believing, keep forgiving, keep following your heart, and stay obedient to His Word. As you stay in faith, just like Joseph, God will take you from the pit to the palace. He’ll order your steps and fulfill those dreams and desires He has placed within you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for the dreams and desires You’ve placed within me. Even when I can’t see it, I trust that You are working behind the scenes. I choose to tune out the negative voices and press into You. Keep me close and guide my every step in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Jesus Is Your Qualification For God’s Blessings

Deuteronomy 28:2

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you…

God loves to bless you. He has even declared that “blessings shall come upon you and overtake you”. This means that you can’t run fast enough to escape them! When you turn one corner, there is a blessing waiting for you. When you turn another corner, you run smack into another blessing!

Now, you may think that you don’t qualify for God’s blessings because of the preceding verse which says that these blessings will come to pass only if you diligently obey God’s voice and keep all of His commandments. You know that no matter how hard you try, you just cannot keep all of God’s commandments. In fact, the Bible says that if you fail to keep just one commandment, you fail to keep all. (James 2:10)

My friend, I have good news for you: Jesus is the one who qualifies us for every single blessing because He has kept all of God’s commandments. When He died for us on the cross, He not only fulfilled all of God’s commandments, He also redeemed us from the curse of the law. (Galatians 3:13) Note that He did not redeem us from the blessings of the law, so the blessings are still ours today!

As you read the list of blessings in Deuteronomy 28, starting with “Blessed shall you be in the city… in the country… the fruit of your body… your basket… when you come in… when you go out…” (Deuteronomy 28:3–13), I believe that Jesus is saying to you, “Like the blessings? Then take them by faith!”

You may say, “But I don’t deserve them.” Yes, you don’t deserve them, but you still get them because of Jesus. That is God’s grace! The law says, “You must deserve the blessings.” But the law is no longer here. Grace is here. So take the blessings by grace through faith. Believe God for the blessings.

Today, it is no longer a question of how much or how well you have kept God’s commandments. It is a question of how much you can believe God for His blessings. All the promises of God in Christ are “Yes”, and because you are in Christ, you can say “Amen!” to His blessings! (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Be All that You Can See

“Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘According to your faith will it be done to you’ ”
(Matthew 9:29, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD

God created us as visual beings. He is a creative God, and He’s given us the ability to create as well. It all starts with what you see in your mind’s eye. Everyone has their own mental picture of the way they see themselves, their family and their future. This picture determines what kind of life you live. If you have an image of success, victory, health, happiness and abundance, you will naturally gravitate toward that. But if you have an image of lack, defeat and mediocrity, that negative mental picture will keep you from God’s best.

Remember, if you’re going to be successful, you have to first see yourself as successful — the way God sees you. According to your faith, it will be done to you.

Faith comes by hearing the Word. That’s why it’s so important to take time every day to study and meditate on God’s promises. Let His truth sink down deeply into your heart. Open your eyes of faith so you can see yourself rising higher. Choose to have a vision of victory and be all that you can see!

Father God, I pray today that You would open the eyes of my heart and reveal Yourself to me. Show me Your ways. Show me Your love. Help me to see myself the way You see me so that I can be all that You have created me to be in Jesus’ name. Amen

Keep Your Alive Dreams

TODAY’S WORD

Throughout life, we will always have forces opposing us to try to keep us from becoming all God’s created us to be. And many times, the adversities and unfair situations are set up by the enemy to try to discourage us and deceive us into giving up on our dreams.

Today, you may feel like you’re at an empty place in life. Not much is going your way. You’ve been through difficulties and setbacks. But I believe God wants to restore you. He wants to encourage you, and pour out His spirit upon you. He wants to do a new thing in and through you. It doesn’t matter what’s happened in your past, God has something new for your future. I always say, when one dream dies, dream another dream.

Today, remember, God has placed so much inside of you. You have gifts, talents and abilities that no one else has. You may have had more than your share of unfair things happen. But it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish that matters. It’s time to shake off the past and shake off that discouragement. Let faith arise in your heart and keep your dreams alive!

Father God, I know that You have chosen me for such a time as this. I may not understand everything that has happened in my past, but I choose to trust in You. It Will Come Back to You

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest”

TODAY’S WORD

In life, we’re always going to have critics. We’ll always have difficult people who try to upset us and steal our peace and joy. But, you don’t have to respond to every critic. You can decide to take the high road and let God fight your battles for you.

Sometimes, no matter what you say or do, there are people who aren’t going to accept you. They just don’t want to be at peace with you. In fact, when Jesus sent out His disciples to certain homes, He told them to always speak peace over those homes. And then He said, in effect, “If they don’t receive the peace that you’re offering, then it will come back to you.” That tells me, if you will do your best to be at peace with people, even if they won’t take your peace, the good news is that peace will just come back to you. You’ll not only get your peace, but you’ll get their share as well! That’s double for your trouble! When you do the right thing no matter what is happening, God sees it and rewards it. So choose peace today and walk in the blessing He has for you!

Father in heaven, I choose to hold my peace. I choose to do the right thing even when the wrong thing is happening. I trust that You are fighting my battles for me. I give You all the honor and praise and choose to walk in peace today in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Answer the Door

When you wake up each morning, God sends you a special delivery of joy. It’s like it comes knocking at the door of your heart every day. The problem is that some people never answer the door. It’s right there, month after month, year after year saying, “Come on! Let me in! You can be happy! You can cheer up! You can enjoy your life!” The way to answer the door is to get up and choose an attitude of faith and expectancy by declaring that “today is going to be a good day.” When you start the day like that, you are choosing to receive the gift of joy that God sent to you.

Today, make up your mind to answer the door to joy! Get up every morning and say, “Father, thank You for another beautiful day. I’m going to be happy. I’m going to enjoy this day because You are faithful. I’m going to brighten someone else’s life. I am choosing to receive Your gift of joy and passing it on to others because I love You, and I know that I am called for Your purposes!”

Unhindered Prayers

Did you know that the way you treat people has an impact on the effectiveness of your prayers? The Bible says that the prayer of the righteous person is powerful, but if we aren’t treating others with honor, kindness and respect, then we aren’t allowing His righteousness to operate in us. When we don’t treat others the way we should, it closes the door to God’s power and hinders our prayers.
This is especially true in a marriage relationship. Marriage isn’t just an agreement between two people to live life together. Marriage is a God-ordained institution that helps us understand love and unity. When two people are married, they become one physically, spiritually and emotionally. This particular passage is directed toward husbands, but it applies to all believers as well. We should always treat others “with understanding,” which means considering their needs above our own. We should always aim to treat others with kindness, dignity, and respect and quickly choose forgiveness.
Today, choose love. Choose to treat others with respect. Let righteousness flow through you and open the door for His power in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for another day to worship You and become more like You. I submit my heart, mind, will and emotions to You. I choose to treat others with love and respect which shows that I honor You. Have Your way in me and teach me to prayer effectively for Your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have you thought about the people in your life who need your blessing? They need your approval. They need to hear you say, “I’m proud of you. You’re going to do great things.” That’s speaking the blessing. That’s releasing favor into their future. When you say to the people you love, “I’m so glad you’re in my life. You mean the world to me,” you just gave them the blessing. When you tell one of your employees, coworkers or a student, “You amaze me with your ability. You have such a bright future,” those are not just nice compliments. When you speak the blessing, you’re releasing God’s wisdom, protection, favor and abundance into their future. You can literally help shape their destiny. One word of encouragement, one word of approval can be what helps them to really step up to who God created them to be.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied. It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. When we are in the point of asking, "God, how can you do this to me?" we can find the answer in prayer. Like Job we need to turn to God and speak to Him. Let us recommend ourselves to God for His mercy and compassion. We may not understand what's happening to us right now, but let us believe God knows what is best for us. Helen Steiner Rice once said, "Whenever we are troubled, and when everything goes wrong, it is just God working in us to make our spirits strong." Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground--it just may be a smoke signal that summons The Grace of God.

It used to amaze me what people really think about you, with all the time invested in them and other things you do. The listening, the caring, and the encouragement you give them every day; those things are not always appreciated in any kind of way. The overtures of friendship offered and the ear you give to their woes; they still can turn out to be your most awful foes. Instead of returning your non-judgmental stance, you discover that they have been judging you unfairly quite by chance. You discover there has been murmuring about some mistake they think you have made; when all throughout their life history, their mistakes do not fade. Yet you fail to stop to their level because you know it is not right, It is still hard to accept that ones you thought were your friends were only ships passing you by night. So through my experience, I've learned to take heed, That the greatest friend I have is Jesus, indeed. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8). Could God have done any better? What more could He have done? Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends" (John 15:13). Hours after He said this, He did it. He laid down His life for His friends, His enemies, you and me. If you ever begin to doubt God's love for you, ever wonder if He really knows and cares about you, remember the cross. There has never been a greater act of love.

Don't Rush - Just Trust

when our day is filled with plans...we must remember to stay in His hands. We must remember that only He can know...how our day will really go. We must not yield to our own way...but abandon our will to Him and pray. He alone is who we must trust when we feel the urge to rush. When we're tired and feel alone...we must take refuge at His throne. So often things tell us to rush...while there's a gentle voice saying..."just trust" His love in us yet abounds...through all our ups and all our downs. So when you leave your house today remember to ask yourself "Did I pray?" Remember when life presses you to rush...Take a coin from your pocket and read the words that say "In God We Trust" Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7 (New King James Version). David knew what kings and their people usually trusted in – human strength and the ways it is often expressed (in chariots and in horses). In 21 century human can say something like, “Some trust in nuclear weapons and some trust in tanks or bank balance.” It is part of human nature to put our trust in such things. But David put his trust in God almighty. He didn’t carry the name of the Lord as a magical incantation; rather the name speaks of the comprehensive character of God and is an expression of His faithfulness to His covenant with His children.

Show God What Is In Your Heart Today

"But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." - Matthew 6:3-4, How many people do you know who truly give just for the sake of giving because they know it is good and right to do? How many folks do you know who offer their services, time and emotions, simply because they have a real heart to help a fellow man? I wish I could say I knew many such people, but, the reality is, few individuals I know give out of a cheerful and loving heart expecting nothing from man or God in return. Even in my own life, while my heart may be acting in love, a small subtle part of me sometimes hopes that God will offer me something in return, such as a prayer answered. Unfortunately, God does not work this way. When a prayer is answered or a blessing bestowed, our Creator does not issue it as some sort of reward system or trophy for a job well done. No, my friends, God is above such juvenile behavior, and when the Lord gives, He gives because it is good and right to do so. The next time you are moved to reach out and give to someone, whether it be volunteering some time to help feed the homeless, work with cancer patients, or offering a supportive shoulder to a friend in need, do so expecting nothing in return, and the simple yet profound joy of knowing you did the right thing because it was the godly thing to do, and not because you would receive earthy recognition, will be all the reward you will need! God knows, not only our every word and deed, but He knows our true motives behind our actions. Show God what is in YOUR heart today!

A HEALTHY HEART………!

You may be reading this tonight, worried about some health problem. Maybe you are overweight, or your blood pressure is too high, or the doctor is warning you that you are a likely candidate for a heart attack. Well, as serious as those matters might be, God is leading me to share with you now an important question... a question that could be the very root cause of your physical illness. Ask yourself tonight, "How's my heart?" I'm referring not to your physical heart, but your spiritual one...the one that determines how you respond to the world around you. If this heart is ailing, then often other problems, such as high blood pressure, lack of energy, etc. Manifest themselves. Here is God's prescription for a healthy heart: "As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience" (Colossians 3:12, NIV). Let that Word speak to your spirit tonight. Take your mind off your physical problems as you start to sleep tonight, and instead prayerfully ask God to give you the healthy heart mentioned in Colossians 3:12. You will have sweet dreams tonight, and a much healthier day...tomorrow.

On the day of public inspection, each one of his tools was marked with its selling price: Hatred, Envy, Jealousy, Doubt, Lying, Pride, and so on, were each on the block. Set apart, however, from all the rest of the pile, was a harmless-looking tool, well-worn, but priced very high — it was discouragement!” Someone asked the devil, ‘why is that one priced so high?’ He replied, ‘Ah, that one is more useful to me than all the rest. With it I can pry open a man’s heart and enter, when I cannot get near him with any other tools. Once inside, I can lead him any way I choose. The tool is much worn because I use it on almost everyone, since few people know it belongs to me. The enemy loves to sow discouragement — but believers have a tool much more powerful — encouragement! We can speak a word into the lives of those who desperately need to hear it: to the college student adjusting to his new environment; to the missionary who may feel alone in the harvest field; to the disillusioned newlywed young couple; to the forgotten servants of God who labor in an obscure and difficult ministry; to the orphans and the widows; to all those who need to hear a word in due season! We have the power in our lips to rekindle a discouraged soul. Let’s inspire one another with words of encouragement! A couple travels so much that it seems like the wife is always packing suitcases. With the luggage laid out on the bed, she begins: This "little thing" and that "little thing." She never thinks she is packing much until she tries to pick it up. It weighs a ton! Walking with it seems impossible; running with it would be absurd. Yet that's exactly how "weights" of pessimism and negativity which block your relationship with God, are established. Bit by bit, this "little thought" and that "little thought" that isn't of Him gets shoved into the "suitcase" of your mind. Each small act of choosing your own negative or pessimistic thoughts over His thoughts of faith and hope add one more weight. Soon your soul is so oppressed that fellowship is lost. In the night you doom the next day by deciding, Things won't get any better. Tomorrow will be just like today. What's the use? God wants to set you on the road to freedom tonight. He wants you to start throwing off those weights of pessimism and get back in the race! He's telling you, "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith..." (Hebrews 12:1-2, NKJV). Before you sleep tonight, think of one "weight" (pessimistic attitude) that you will refuse to carry anymore. Then call on the Lord for His strength and throw it off and you will rejoice in freedom from oppression.

Charles William Eliot, former president of Harvard University, had a birthmark on his face that bothered him greatly. As a young man, he was told that surgeons could do nothing to remove it. Someone described that moment as “the dark hour of his soul.” Eliot’s mother gave him this helpful advice: “My son, it is not possible for you to get rid of that hardship. But it is possible for you, with God’s help, to grow a mind and soul so big that people will forget to look at your face.” Yes, it’s true. All of us have things we’d love to change about our bodies. And many of us tend to spend an awful lot of time and money trying to change, fix and cover those things up. But I think there is much truth in Mrs. Eliot’s words. When we are shining boldly for the Lord, I don’t believe anyone sees them! Do you REALLY want to make a drastic difference in your appearance today? Let’s stop focusing on our outward issues today and start focusing on what really counts — walking uprightly and wholeheartedly with the Lord — a spiritual extreme makeover! We will glow like never before, at a low price and 100% guaranteed! And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalms 90:17.

God will answer your cry

Once there was a man, who goes to the doctor due to some problem. He tells the doctor that, his wife is acting being deaf these days, i.e. no matter what this man says she is not replying to any of the things. The doctor says, "I do not have a treatment right now for this problem, I can suggest you something through which you can know her level of deafness then we can start treatment." The doctor says, go home and try calling your wife from 30 feet far and then go little closer and then call her again and go little further and repeat the same. Do this in order to know her level of deafness. The man says, "Ok doctor I will try this out" and left that place. The man goes home. He tells his wife, "Honey what's for dinner?" He does not get any reply. He goes little further and asks the same question. He does this ten times; he was almost near to her. Then for the 10th time she answers him saying, "How many times should I reply saying that today is the special dinner for you." It means it was not his wife who was deaf but he himself. Friends, it is same with Our God. We think that we ask him so many things in prayer many times and Lord is not answering us. But it is the other way around. He always listens to our cry and answers our prayer as our Lord is gracious and merciful but we never realize them. He may give answers to our prayers to us but in different ways. Because he says, my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways. O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you." Isaiah 30:19.

Don’t give up your dreams

The car you drive has a large windshield, but only a relatively small rear view mirror. The implication is obvious: What happened in your past is not nearly as important as what is in your future. Where you are going is much more important than where you've been. If you stay focused on the past, you're liable to miss numerous excellent opportunities ahead. Don't let disappointment become the central theme of your life. Quit mourning over something you can't change. God wants to give you a new beginning, but you have to let go of the old before you'll ever see the new. Let that door close behind you and step through the door in front of you. Maybe you've allowed other people to convince you that you're never going to rise higher, that you will never see your dreams come to pass. Don't believe them. When Caleb was a young man, he and Joshua were part of an exploratory spy mission to determine the strength of the enemy before God's people moved into the land that God had promised them. Out of the twelve spies, only Caleb and Joshua presented a positive report to Moses. They were all too willing to settle for the second best, to dwell for the rest of their lives right where they were. Unfortunately, that group of negative thinkers never did make it into the Promised Land. They spent the next forty years spinning their wheels and wandering around aimlessly in a desert. By then Caleb was 85 years old, but he hadn't given up on the dream God had placed in his heart. He told Joshua that he was still as strong as he was when the promise first came to him. Caleb went back to the same place and asked god for that mountain to live on. The mountain he claimed had five giants living on it. Surely, he could have found a place less fortified, more accessible, or more easily occupied. Although it is forty years later, he believed until he has seen that promise being fulfilled. That's the kind of attitude we need to have. We give up too easily. No, keep pressing forward, and keep believing. Keep yourself stirred up.
You've got the gifts, the talents and the dreams. Don't allow complacency to keep you from seeing god's promises fulfilled in your life.

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, a Great Spirit (God!) is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him. MORAL: Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there. For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2Corinthians 5:7.

Give me a parking space…………

One man I heard about was driving around in a crowded parking lot, trying to find a space. He finally got so frustrated and said, "God if you will give me a parking space, I'll attend the church every Sunday." Just then, a car backed out of the front row, and the frustrated driver pulled into the open spot. He looked up and said, "Never mind, God. I just found one." Too often, we forget that God is the giver of all good things. God is the one who caused us get that "lucky break." He's the one who caused us to be at the right place at the night time. How many times have you been driving on a busy highway and you said to yourself, "Whew! That car almost hit me. Another split second and I would have had an accident." That was God's hand of protection. Understand that there is no such thing as a coincidence when your life is directed by God. When something good happens to you, be sensitive, recognize the work of God and learn to recall it often. Sometimes, we take these things for granted. Some people don't even realize that it was God at work in their life. Maybe you used to think or speak negatively. You were depressed and defeated. Today, though you are rising higher; you know you are a victor and not a victim. Perhaps at one point you suffered with all kinds of addictions and pain. But God supernaturally delivered you, and today you are healthy and whole. Thank God for what He has done. Remember how He set you free from all bondages. Remembering where you came from is one of the best ways to keep yourself encouraged. When we learn to recall the good things God has done, it helps us to stay in an attitude of faith and to remain grateful. He is holding you in the palm of His hand, and He will take care of you. All you need to do is to remember what all He has done for you and praise Him. Give Him all the glory he deserves, because He alone is worthy to be praised.

Once the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked on a small island, He went to pick up some firewood and a poisonous snake bit him. The people thought he would die immediately. That’s what it feels like when somebody criticizes us, when somebody is talking behind your back, trying to put you in bad light; we can feel the sting of his or her words. I love what Paul did. One translation says, “He simply shook it off.” It was as though he was saying, “No big deal. I’m not going to let this thing bother me. It may be poisonous, it may look bad, but I know God is in control. I know God can take care of me.” Miraculously, the snake didn’t even harm Paul. Many people let negative words or other people’s opinions totally ruin their lives. They live to please other people and honestly think they can be happy by trying to keep everyone else happy. They don’t want anybody to say a negative word about them. That’s impossible. You have to accept the fact that not everybody is going to like you. Some people will find fault, no matter what you do. You can be there for them a thousand times in a row, but they will remind you repeatedly of that one time when you couldn’t show up. Life is too short to try to keep people happy. The Scripture says in Proverbs, “A gossiping, find faulting tongue is like a venomous snake.” A person’s words can poison your life. The longer you think about it, the more venom goes into you. If somebody is talking about you, don’t go home and call seven of your friends and ask, “What did you hear about me?” Just shake it off. Don’t spend all your time trying to win over your critics; just run your own race. Remember, most of the time, it’s not really about you. It’s about the fact that they haven’t dealt with that jealous, critical spirit on the inside. The best thing you can do is ignore the slingers. Do what God has put in your heart and trust Him to take care of the criticism.

Great piano master and a Little Star…………

This is a wonderful story to remind us how God works in our lives. I hope you are encouraged by it. Wishing to encourage her young son's progress on the piano, a mother took her boy to a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience and walked down the aisle to greet her. Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way through a door marked "NOADMITTANCE." When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing. Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing." Then leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was mesmerized. That's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't exactly graceful flowing music. But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful. Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing." Feel His loving arms around you. Know that His strong hands are there helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces. Remember, God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called. And He'll always be there to love and guide you on to great things.

Have you been crying out to the Lord for something? Maybe there’s a situation in your life that’s been overwhelming, and you feel like you’ve done everything you know to do and can’t see a way through. Be encouraged today because we serve a God of justice! He is faithful to His Word, and He will always be faithful to you. Not only is He a God of justice, He is your vindicator. One thing we have to remember is that our battle is not with the person who may have wronged us. Scripture says that the enemy of our souls, the accuser of the brethren is our ultimate enemy. Know today that God already has a plan; He already knows the future, and He will bring about justice! Before eternity is through, He will right the wrongs that have been done to you. Your part is to release the situation into His capable hands. You don’t have to straighten everybody out or right the wrongs in your life, that’s God’s job. Trust Him with your future because the God of justice is working things out on your behalf! Father God, today I release every care, every concern, and every situation that is beyond my control. I trust that You are working things out for my good, and You are bringing justice to me. Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

Before God spoke the universe into existence He knew my name. Before He created the atmosphere He held me in His heart. Before He created the oceans, the land, the plants and creeping things, He chose the color of my hair. Before He created the animals and before He created the first man, He loved me. He placed within Adam’s body all of the DNA of every human being who would ever walk the earth, and within him he placed the color of my eyes. Before He knit me together within my mother’s womb, he cherished the sound of my laugh. Before I shed my first tear he felt my pain. Before my sin, my sorrow, and my stubborn disobedience, he chose to carry them to the Cross. He hung there His blood pouring out…for me. Why he chose to do this I cannot comprehend. God wanted me to be his own child. How can that be? With all of my flaws and character defects He wanted me to believe in Him, and He gave me the grace to believe in myself. God loves me with a fire that can never be quenched. I am special to him, even if I am not special to anyone else, including myself. I have tried to perfect myself, and I have failed. I have tried to believe the world’s message, but I have found no answers. I have followed the paths forged by others only to find disaster at every bend in the road. Only God has given me the answers that I have sought. Peace. Love. Fulfillment. The change in my life is not a complicated one. It’s not about how good I am or how I pray or how often I go to church. It’s not about money or fame or popularity. I cannot speak for others. They must decide for themselves. I only know that the world has given me no happiness. After searching my entire life, I have only been able to find the answers to my questions on my knees at the foot of the cross

God surprises…….

Occasionally God surprises us by letting us find out how He used some word we spoke or action that we took years ago and perhaps forgot all about. About a century ago Stephen Grellat was led one day to go out to a heavily forested area of America to preach. It was a strong inward compulsion of the Holy Spirit. When he arrived at the loggers' camp, he found they had moved to another location, and their shanties were deserted. However, he was so sure he was sent by God that he went into an empty shanty and preached to the bare walls the sermon God had placed upon his heart. He then returned to his home, He could never understand why God would send him to preach to an empty shanty. Many years later, as he walked across a bridge, a man grasped his arm, "I found you at last," the man said. "I think you are mistaken," said Mr. Grellat. "No, didn’t you preach in an empty shanty in the woods years ago?" "Yes," Mr. Grellat admitted, "but no one was there." "I was the foreman in charge of the loggers," the stranger explained. "We had moved to a new location, before long I realized I'd left one of my tools behind. I returned to get it and heard a voice in one of the shanties; I peered through a crack between the logs and saw you. You never saw me, but I listened to the rest of the sermon, God touched my heart that day and I became so convicted of my sins, that after some time I purchased a Bible, repented of my sins, and became a Christian, then I began to win my men to Christ. Your sermon has led over a thousand people to Christ, and three of them have gone on to become missionaries!"

.Most people have things in their lives that they want to change — old habits, addictions or something they want to overcome. The world offers so many “solutions” to improve your life; but really, the only way we are truly changed, the only way to be permanently transformed is by renewing your mind with the Word of God. The scripture tells us that we shouldn’t follow the pattern of the world. What is the pattern of the world? It’s the constant striving to do more, be more and have more that only leads to weariness, emptiness and frustration. That’s not what God intends! Instead, focus your thoughts on the Word of God because when you make the Word your number one focus, something supernatural takes place. Only you can control the doorway to your mind. Nobody can do this for you. You choose what you meditate on and what you set before your eyes. I encourage you to stay on the offensive and diligently guard your mind and heart because when you do things God’s way, you get God’s results — life, peace and joy! “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will” Romans 12:2.

The LORD gave David victory wherever he went. (2 Samuel 8:6), David was smart. David was good. David was skilled. But, God gave the victory. Like us, being smart, good and skilled at what we do is not enough to truly win. It’s up to God. The message here is clear—victory and defeat are not determined by the size or power of our enemies but upon the Lord God. It is God who gives victory. Make Plans for the Next Victory. In the Bible, Caleb helped lead the people of Israel into their Promised Land. But scripture tells us that Caleb didn’t just stop there. In fact, when he was 80 years old he said, “God, give me another mountain.” He was saying, “God give me something else to do. Give me another assignment.” Notice, he was planning on living out his life in victory. He could have said, “God, just let me retire. Man, my back’s hurting. I can hardly see anymore. Medicare wouldn’t pay that latest prescription. I’m so aggravated.” No, he was strong. He was energetic; he was ready for the next challenge. Friend, no matter how old or how young you are, God has another assignment for you. You wouldn’t be here if God didn’t have a purpose for you. Happiness does not mean living without pain or hurt—not at all. True happiness is learning how to live one day at a time, in spite of sorrow and pain. It is learning how to rejoice in the Lord, no matter what has happened in the past. You may feel rejected and abandoned. Your faith may be weak and you think you mare down for the count. Sorrow, tears, pain, and emptiness may swallow you up at times, but God is still on the throne. He is still God! Convince yourself that you will survive. You will come out of it and, live or die, you belong to the Lord. Life does go on and it will surprise you how much you can bear with God’s help. You cannot help yourself or stop the pain, but our blessed Lord will come to you. He will place his loving hand under you and lift you up to sit again in heavenly places. He will deliver you from the fear of dying and he will reveal his endless love for you. Look up! Encourage yourself in the Lord. When the fog surrounds you and you can’t see any way out of your dilemma, lie back in the arms of Jesus and simply trust him. He has to do it all! He wants your faith and your confidence. He wants you to cry aloud, “Jesus loves me! He is with me! He will not fail me! He is working it all out, right now! I will not be cast down! I will not be defeated! I will not be a victim of Satan! I will not lose my mind or my direction. God is on my side! I love him and he loves me!” The bottom line is faith. I asked God to take away my pride, and God said, "No". He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, and God said, "No". Recently; I read an amazing story about a small kid in United States, This story has great meaning in it. A ten year old disobedience boy was failing to show excellence in studies, His parents tried everything from tutors to teachers; but nothing worked out. Finally, at the insistence of a family friend, they decided to enroll their son in a Christian organizational school. After the first day, the boy's parents were surprised when he walked in after school with a stern, focused and very determined expression on his face. He went straight past them, right to his room and quietly closed the door. For nearly two hours he toiled away in his room - with school books strewn about his desk and the surrounding floor. He emerged long enough to eat, and after quickly cleaning his plate, went straight back to his room, closed the door and worked feverishly at his studies until bedtime. This pattern of behavior continued until it was time for the first quarter's report card. The boy walked in with it unopened - laid it on the dinner table and went straight to his room. Cautiously, his mother opened it and, to her amazement, boy scored 90 percentages of marks in all the subjects, Overjoyed, she and her husband rushed into their son's room, thrilled at his remarkable progress. "Was it the nuns that did it?" the father asked. The boy shook his head and said "No." "Was it the one-to-one tutoring? The peer-mentoring?" "No." "The textbooks? The teachers? The curriculum?" "No", said the son. "On that first day, when I walked in the front door and saw that man (Jesus) nailed to the cross, I KNEW they meant for disobedience kids!" One of the best ways to ensure a deepening friendship with God is to have a heart that wants to obey Him. When our hearts are pure, tender towards His leading, and eager to respond obediently, we are in a terrific position to experience God's friendship and hear His voice. God knows that we will not arrive at a place of perfection while we are on this Earth, but we can and should have perfect hearts towards Him, hearts that seek and crave to do what is right to please and glorify God. As you grow in your friendship with God, never forget that your relationship must be based on who He is and not on what He can do for you. Keep seeking His presence; keep seeking His face and just not his hand, because one of the hindrances to a vibrant, maturing friendship with God is allowing ourselves to focus on the benefits of friendship with God instead of focusing on Him as our friend. As human beings, we do not appreciate finding out that certain people want to be our friends because we have an ability to get them something they want; we feel valued when we know people have a right heart attitude towards us and that they want to be friends with us simply because of who we are and just because they enjoy having our relationship. The same principle applies with God. "This day the Lord God had commanded you to do these statues and ordinances. You don’t have to settle for an average year; you can have an extraordinary year. You may be planning on just getting by, but God is planning on abundance. He’s planning on overflow. It’s time to get into agreement with God. It’s time to walk in His ways. It’s time see your dreams come to pass. Worship creates an atmosphere in which God can speak to us. Worship is difficult to define. It is more about who God is rather than what He does for us. True worship comes from deep within us; it is precious and awesome and it is our attempt to verbalize how we feel about God. It is a powerful outpouring of our hearts toward the Lord and it represents a depth of love, gratitude, and devotion that we find difficult to put into words. Human language is not rich enough to describe everything that true worship is. In fact, worship is so personal and intimate that maybe we should not even attempt to limit or define it with words. Worship is much more than just singing songs. It is first and foremost a condition of heart and a state of mind. We can be worshiping passionately without singing a single note. Worship is born in our hearts; it fills our thoughts and then it is expressed through our mouths and through our bodies. If our hearts are filled with awe for God, we may want to sing, dance, clap, or lift up our hands in worship. We may also be reverently silent and still before God. We may desire to give offerings or offer other forms of outward expression of love for God. But any of these actions done without a right heart are simply formalism and meaningless to God. I encourage you to sincerely worship God today. Do it because you love Him, and don't be surprised if He speaks to you while you are worshiping Him. Your vision for the future so that I can move confidently into the abundant life You have for me. Amen

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?" The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way." I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it." Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective? Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have.. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. The car you drive has a large windshield, but only a relatively small rear view mirror. The implication is obvious: What happened in your past is not nearly as important as what is in your future. Where you are going is much more important than where you've been. If you stay focused on the past, you're liable to miss numerous excellent opportunities ahead. Don't let disappointment become the central theme of your life. Quit mourning over something you can't change. God wants to give you a new beginning, but you have to let go of the old before you'll ever see the new. Let that door close behind you and step through the door in front of you. Maybe you've allowed other people to convince you that you're never going to rise higher, that you will never see your dreams come to pass. Don't believe them. When Caleb was a young man, he and Joshua were part of an exploratory spy mission to determine the strength of the enemy before God's people moved into the land that God had promised them. Of the twelve spies, only Caleb and Joshua presented a positive report to Moses. They were all too willing to settle for the second best, to dwell for the rest of their lives right where they were. Unfortunately, that group of negative thinkers never did make it into the Promised Land. They spent the next forty years spinning their wheels and wandering around aimlessly in a desert. By then Caleb was 85 years old, but he hadn't given up on the dream God had placed in his heart. He told Joshua that he was still as strong as he was when the promise first came to him. Caleb went back to the same place and asked god for that mountain to live on. The mountain he claimed had five giants living on it. Surely, he could have found a place less fortified, more accessible, or more easily occupied. Although it is forty years later, he believed until he has seen that promise being fulfilled. That's the kind of attitude we need to have. We give up too easily No, keep pressing forward, and keep believing. Keep yourself stirred up. You've got the gifts, the talents and the dreams. Don't allow complacency to keep you from seeing god's promises fulfilled in your life.

Our Great Restorer!

Our God is a God who restores! When you feel all is lost, God's still there, and promises to restore you, but perhaps not in the ways you expect. Never rush it! Human pregnancy takes a full nine months to produce a precious life. Even Jesus spent thirty years to prepare for His earthly ministry. Pace yourself! Your present and future joy depends on it. When you get in a hurry, all you do is set yourself up for regret. It has taken you a lifetime to get to this present moment! Proverbs 28:22 says, "He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and considers not that poverty shall come upon him." Slow down!

Reclaiming joy in our life deals with the sources of our joy, as well as the paths we take toward recovering that joy. Remember the song, "looking for love in all the wrong places?" People do the same thing when looking for joy! Often, the "joy" we find brings us the greatest heartache, because we did not consider the source, and it was in the wrong place. Sometimes, we feel our wells have just gone dry!

When we are distressed by the state of our lives, we find ourselves in pathetic condition. We are irritated by even the smallest inconveniences. We rarely laugh. We are quick to snap at people. We flop into bed each night, exhausted. We have no joy in our lives. There is a close relationship between the presence of stress in our lives, and the absence of joy in our lives. Many have given up on joy and presumed a dry religious ritual is the most they can hope for. What would Jesus say to those whose wells have run dry?

Deeper joy is not found in power, position, or possessions, but rather in relationships! We do not relate to God through a religion, but rather through a relationship! Jesus' second greatest source of joy came from giving Himself away for those around Him! His primary joy was His relationship with His Father! You will never get to that deeper joy, unless you decide you are dissatisfied with where you are! Get involved in a relationship with Jesus. Then, pour yourself into someone else, who may need a friend... just like you!

Are you in a hard place today………?

One day, a friend came to me, crying desperately, saying that her present situation was more than she could endure. She had been put in a hard place and wanted an immediate way of escape. Are you in a hard place today? Are you asking yourself, as my friend did, what possible glory God could derive from such a devastating experience? Let me encourage you with the answer I gave my friend. I know it was a word from the Lord because it set her free and gave her the peace she was lacking. I encourage you to use these words as a key to healing in your own hard place. I told my friend, “Just because it’s a hard place, don’t be so sure that God didn’t allow you there for a purpose. You cannot see God’s whole plan now, but be sure that He has a beautiful purpose to unfold. You may not know what He is preparing you for, but you dare not miss it.” Think about how dark a mine is – as dark as the hard place you are now in—yet, it has the capacity to produce the most brilliant of gems. Just like the mining process, our hardest trials can produce our dearest treasures.” We have to thank God, that if mountain was plain we couldn’t climb so far.

In a hectic world full of confusion, it is easy to feel as if you are going around in a revolving door, but not quite sure where you’re going or how to get there. As your day winds down, you may find your mind still racing with responsibilities and problems, reeling with thoughts of today’s business and tomorrow’s necessities. You may tell yourself, “I’ve got to figure this out. I’ve got to find a way. I’ve got to...“ Stop! Let the Lord chart your course! It’s not, “What I’ve got to do, but how will the Lord lead me through this?” He has the only perfect plan to chart your course past confusion. As David put it: Open my eyes to see wonderful things in your Word, I am but a pilgrim here on earth: how I need a map – and your commands are my chart and guide” (Psalm 119:18, 19, TLB). Open your eyes to His wonderful plans for peace in place of confusion, planned direction in place of dead-ends. He alone is your Chart and Guide. Check the “map” of His Word regularly to keep your charted course. Daily path finding through your Bible eliminates the frustration of trying to find your own way. You can truly rest when, having checked your course through God’s Word, you set your sight on His perfect path.

If eventually your body is worn to its limits by the incessant work cycle, physical and emotional collapse is inevitable, and spiritually you will dry up so that God seems distant and unrelated to your frenzied life. There is an old saying, “When the devil can’t make you bad, he makes you busy!” If he can’t render you inactive, he destroys your effectiveness through overwork. Step into the rhythm of God’s will. Do what He wants you to do when He wants you to do it! Ask God to still your mind and spirit and make you an open channel for His redirection of your priorities. Examine your efforts and objectives. Have they been yours or God’s? Are you driving yourself or is the Holy Spirit leading you gently into those things He would have you do? “In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths; (Proverbs 3:6 AMP). Be open to God’s will today. Seek His guidance and He will clearly show you what His plans are and give you contentment, making each day complete in Him.

When you pass through pains and perils, unable to hear the voice of God, and deprived of his guidance, you become very much dejected. Be not dismayed! The Lord speaks to you in a still small voice to let you know that He is still with you. He knows the pressures you had to pass through, but He will make use of you. You will hear Him speak so in the depths of your hearts. "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2″ in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Ofcourse, the sand filled up everything else. He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "Yes." "Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things - your Church, your Ministry, your family, your partner, your health, your children - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter - like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff." "If you put the sand into the jar,first," he continued "there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks.The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that areimportant to you. Pray everyday to God, give thanks for what He has done, Love every one and Pay attention to the things which are around you.Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter.

Trust Lord

God never told us to trust people! He told us to trust Him, and love people! It is vitally important that we know the difference. No matter what life may deal, we can stand tall, knowing that God has purposed our lives, and because He has spoken into our spirits, we can keep faith that His Word will not return void. No matter what comes our way, we still have joy! Watch the confidence and trust in Psalms 118:17, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."

You may find you are not mentally, physically, emotionally, materially, or spiritually in the place you thought you would be! You had envisioned that life had more in store for you, and number one would be your spot! You had high hopes and big dreams! You dreamed your marriage would last, your children would grow up, and be model Christians, your business would be booming, your home would be nicer, your car would be newer, your paychecks would be bigger, and life would be better. You had aspirations of reaching the pinnacle of success and happiness. Yet, you look at the reality of it all, and find that life has not panned out quite the way you had planned. Life, its circumstances, and situations, has done a number on you, and in the midst of all of it, your dreams are now lying on the floor of your yesterdays.

Many cry and pray, but never really think that it is going to get any better! We adjust our dreams to accommodate our today, and stop pushing for more, figuring it's better to accept the status-quo than to press toward a mark that seems beyond our ability to reach. We quit mid-stream, mid-struggle, and start looking for the nearest bench on which to park ourselves, as we watch time and life pass us by.

I am here to tell somebody, "Don't throw in the towel, just yet!" It may appear all hope is gone, that everyone else is finishing the race without you, but it ain't over, my Friend! I must confess I have really struggled with this! No matter what is going on around you, the final point I want to make is that when it's all said and done, God has the last word! Put your trust and confidence in Him! You can count on Him!

Funeral of a Dead Church…………

A new pastor in Topeka, Kansas, USA, spent the first four days making personal visits to each of his prospective congregation inviting them to come to his inaugural services. The following Sunday the church was all but empty. Accordingly, the pastor placed a notice in the local newspapers, stating that, because the church was dead, it was everyone's duty to give it a decent Christian burial. The funeral would be held the following Sunday afternoon. Morbidly curious, a large crowd turned out for the 'funeral'. In front of the pulpit they saw a closed coffin which was covered in flowers. After the priest had delivered the eulogy, he opened the coffin and invited his congregation to come forward and pay their final respects to their dead church. Filled with curiosity as to what would represent the corpse of a 'dead church', all the people eagerly lined up to look in the coffin. Each 'mourner' peeped into the coffin then quickly turned away with a guilty. In the coffin, tilted at the correct angle, was a large mirror.

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree. As he went further, he saw a large wild “Tom” turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining. A voice spoke to him and said, “Pray first, aim high and stay focused.” However, at the same time, he saw a deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake. Still, the voice said again to him, “I said ‘Pray, Aim high and Stay focused.” So, the man decided to listen to God’s voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a deer and a turkey to eat for his family. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God. Pray first before you do anything, Aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that, “the past.” Live every day one day at a time and remember that only God knows our future and that he will not put you through any more than you can bear. Do not look to man for your blessings, but look to the doors that only He has prepared in advance for you in your favor. Wait be still and patient, keep God first and everything else will follow.

Are there people in your life that you cannot make happy? News Flash! You are not responsible for their happiness. While we should be givers, we should not allow others to control us. Learn to set boundaries in your relationships, so you can be all God intended you to be. The happiest people on earth are the ones content with God being in charge of their lives. There are times when our joy is not full, but in God's presence, there is always fullness of joy. To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances. To seek Him is the greatest adventure. To find Him is the greatest human achievement.

Certain powers steal joy! One of them is, "the power of the emptiers." The emptiers allow you to fill their cups, and they empty them on the ground, wasting the contents. Every day they celebrate a wasted life! If you asked them, "How are you?" They would reply, "All is not well." Moreover, if you asked, "Why," they would begin their list of life's tragedies with a detailed "pain and hurt" routine. Few people talk about how well their eyes are seeing, their ears are hearing, their nose is smelling, their taste buds are tasting, or their stomach is digesting. Their emphasis is on what is wrong with them, not what is right! The words coming out of people's mouths determine their happiness and future.

Some folks love to talk about injustices, and how they have been mistreated! No one understands them and their circumstances. Have you ever heard someone say, "I give all the credit for being a failure to myself?" Emptiers justify their lack of victory, lack of finances, losses, and failures!

Victors boast on the power of God! They talk about their expectation of God's provision. I am not saying it is going to be "a piece of cake." It is not going to be easy! Ask any Five-Star General! No war is easy! Victory is the goal, no other plan, no other option! To enter the victory circle, it will cost you the way you have thought all your life. You will have to make up your mind to change your old patterns of thinking. You can do it! God has given you the power of choice -- Choose victory!

While shopping, recently, I saw a cap with the words "Life is good" written across the front! It caught my attention so strongly that I had to purchase it. As I became the new owner of this novelty cap, somehow, it brought to me a thought of joy and happiness that has captivated my mind. As I researched this slogan, I found the cap was created by a New England based apparel and accessories brand, best known for its optimistic apparel. In 1989 brothers, Bert and John Jacobs began this company, by selling T-shirts out of an old van at colleges and street fairs along the East Coast of America.

Are you seeking the "good-life" of our culture or the "good-life" that God offers? The good life that God offers involves having: 1.) The right attitude. 2.) The right response. 3.) The right standard, and 4.) The right incentive! Following these principles for successful living will produce a hope in you that no enemy could ever possibly steal out of your heart. The hope that God has given to each of us can fill us with joy even in the worst of circumstances!

Just think of the new life God has given to us! With that new life comes a new hope we never had prior to accepting Christ as our Lord. Hope is the eager, confident expectation of the life to come! Our hope is "living!" It's a hope based on the resurrection of Christ, because Christ is living. C. S. Lewis said, "Do not let your happiness depend on something you may lose."

Life is good, because we have spiritual protection! The picture of our protection is that of a fortress. We are inside! Outside, the evil-forces are assaulting us. Nevertheless, on the perimeter is the overwhelming force of "the power of God." Daily, We have to pray for divine protection for our family and for ourself and, if there is any evil plot that is set against us, we should ask God to send His warring angels to terminate that plan. God Almighty, Himself, is the One who protects us! You see, my Friend, knowing that God is for you, with you, and in you brings security and peace of mind that will cause you to declare. . . "Life is good!"

God's Patience.............

1 Timothy 1:12-16 If God were impatient, we would all experience immediate wrath for sin. Imagine living in constant fear of doing something wrong! Fortunately for mankind, His patience is great. One reason that the Lord shows mercy is because He knows we have a fallen nature. Just as a toddler has to learn obedience, God's children also must learn to walk in His ways. He takes pleasure in watching us do what is right; therefore, He allows us time and room for mistakes. Paul appreciated God's patience. His life demonstrated that because the Father is slow to anger, unbelievers have a much greater opportunity for salvation (1 Tim. 1:16). In Romans 2:4, the apostle affirms that our heavenly Father's kindness and mercy lead to repentance. But in the following verse, he warns those with stubborn hearts that they will experience judgment and consequence. In other words, the warning is that God's patience will at some point run out if someone continuously sins against Him. In the Old Testament, the nation of Israel repeatedly experienced this painful truth. The people turned away from the Lord and did evil in His sight by worshiping idols. God patiently tolerated their waywardness so that they would return to Him, but eventually, He withdrew His protection until they'd cry out and return to Him. Is there sin in your life that you haven't confessed? Be thankful that God has been slow to anger. And be wise: do not test the limits of His patience

HOPE AND FAITH

Hope is a firm expectation, which makes you have confidence in someone or something! The synonym of hope is trust or confidence. That hope and expectation is reflected in every word that comes out of your mouth. It is impossible to speak gloom and doom, and walk in hope! Your words will always give it away as to what you really believe in your heart. You might say one thing, when you are attempting to impress your church friends, or the Pastor. However, in times when an unexpected event takes place, or you are "caught off-guard," your words will reflect what you really believe.

Faith, on the other hand, is a firm conviction in the accomplishment of something; the confidence that one's expectation will be met or fulfilled soon! "Without faith, it is impossible to even please God!" Remember, God rewards them "who diligently seek Him." As you diligently seek Him and hold fast to your confession, you will rise up higher, and see the victory and blessing the Lord has in store for you. When you step out and ask for God's favor, His blessings, and His increase, you are activating your faith. Talk to Him; He has been waiting for you!

A New thing

I always hear your prayers. And when you place your trust completely in me, and rely completely on me alone to do these things for you, then I will move myself on your behalf. And as you delight yourself in me alone and look to me alone as your joy, I shall fill your heart with gladness.

And I will not only provide the things that you need, but as one that wants to display their love to another, I will also pour out upon you the things you desire. For my heart yearns to give you all things. And when your desire is for me and not for the satisfaction that things bring, then my heart yearns to pour out big things upon you. I delight to do even beyond the things that you have asked me for. Because only then can I fully display my abundant love for you. Attacks do not last forever! People change. Circumstances change. The weather changes. The seasons of your life will forever be in a cycle of change. Do not be discouraged! I want to encourage you to expect supernatural and dramatic change in your life. There is another tomorrow on the horizon. "For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Nothing lasts forever, except for God, and His goodness!

It is true, lasting hope comes, neither from our circumstances, nor from within ourselves! Our hope comes from God. There is nothing like coming out of spiritual drought, and entering into the river of blessings. It seems that practically every area of life has its seasons of drought -- jobs, marriages, families, and churches, just to mention a few. One thing you will find in common with these areas, in practically every season of drought, is relationship problems. They are directly attributed to the involvement of people as the major cause. Nevertheless, maybe none is as difficult as the ones we experience in our spiritual lives. How do you survive these times?

First, maintain a spiritual discipline! In adversity, the tendency is to neglect Bible-reading, prayer, church attendance, and fellowship with other believers. God has made us that we cannot survive without one another, and Him! So many, when they are attacked, take on the character of a Lone Ranger. You are sure to be lunchmeat for the enemy, then. Secondly, acquire spiritual discernment! Psalm 54:3-4 says, "For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul... Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul." David had it together! Thirdly, anticipate spiritual deliverance! Please know that you are coming out of your mess, and it will be by the mighty hand of God, Himself. That, my Friend, is an uncompromising faith!

Your season will change! Every time you use and stand on your faith, Almighty God will reach to the remotest star in the universe to bring you complete and total deliverance. He will deliver you from drought, and bring you into "rivers of living water." Get ready to drink -- again!

A New Day Is Coming!

Too many people go around with chips on their shoulders, bitter, resentful, and angry! Instead, the first thing we should do every morning is let go of the disappointments of yesterday. We have to keep our hopes up, because the best is yet to come. God will use those negative things that happen to us for our good.

Locusts are destructive creatures! A swarm may have a population of billions. They devour and destroy all vegetation. They are speedy creatures, who appear suddenly, and disappear just as quickly. A swarm can travel over long distances. Let me bring you a word of hope for the devastation that the enemy of your soul has brought you. God can restore what the locusts of your life have eaten!

What do folks feel as they look around at the devastation in their lives? Maybe, they feel hopeless, and can do nothing to change the way things are. Maybe, they feel depressed! Maybe, they feel like giving-up completely! On the other hand, some may feel like working very hard to do something to change things. How do we feel, when things hit our lives like a destructive swarm of locusts? There are seasons in our lives that involve famine and devastation, and there are also times of restoration. Sometimes, we wonder where bad things come from. What is their source? Are they God's judgment? Are they just natural circumstances? Do they come from our own bad choices? Do they happen, because we are in the wrong place at the wrong time? Keep in mind... God is a good God! He has a good plan for our lives, and an end that is full of His abundance and goodness.

Whatever the circumstances, we trust God's Word: "We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 Restoration comes to us, even when it looks impossible -- even after long-term devastation. God says, "I will restore to you the years..." Sometimes, devastation seems to eat away years of blessing. It may be the result of sin, or uncertain circumstances. Restoration has pre-requisites that cannot be overlooked. There has to be a genuine turning to God. God wants to restore you!

*Do not sweat the small stuff! Put your mind on what is important! What does it mean to trust? Webster says: "Basic dependence on someone or something, a belief that something will happen or someone will act in a prescribed way."Trust is the key to successful living!

*Yet, if I were to ask, most would say they trust in God! Sometimes, that is not all that easy. Trusting God means believing in something we cannot see and often do not understand. You see, we find it easier to trust in things we can see and touch. The Bible teaches the things we can see are only temporary. Our church buildings, the pews on which we sit, pulpits, are all temporary. The churches Apostle Paul built are all gone. No matter what we do to slow down the process, cars, houses, and our bodies all get old and start falling apart. *

We look in the mirror and see our aging-bodies, and realize they are temporary, too! All the things you can see and touch are only here for a little while, and they are gone. Nevertheless, the things you cannot see last forever! God wants us to put our trust in Him. Moses trusted God to deliver the Israelites at the Red Sea. Joseph trusted God in Pharaoh's prison. David trusted God for a victory when he went against Goliath. Jonah trusted God to answer his prayer in the belly of the big fish. Noah trusted God when he was told to build an ark in the middle of the desert. *

Trusting God goes against our nature! It means we must admit we are not in control of our lives. Moreover, we so want to be in control! That is typical of all of us. We want to see what lies ahead, and be in control of it all. We want to know how everything is going to turn out -- before it gets here. We are never happy just following. However, just as the sheep follow their shepherd, we have to trust our Shepherd to lead us as "The Way, the Truth, and the Life." The enemy will try everything to keep us living in mediocrity. He knows that once we start moving forward, God will be able to lead us in His perfect will.*

*Years ago, Pastor John Osteen, Founder of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, said, "There is a miracle in your mouth!" Pastor John was saying that the way we speak determines what happens to us. I you always find the negative, and that's what you speak, that's what you will receive. You cannot have a positive outcome, while you speak a negative confession.*

*Miracles still happen for those with the courage to look, and the faith to believe! Whatever happened to miracles? Some say that the scientific era crucified miracles. I disagree! The real perpetrator in this attempted murder . . . is speech! We have lost the ability to recognize and describe the miraculous by the way we talk. We have what we say! As believers, we know this is a vital biblical truth. "A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul." Proverbs 18:7. The problem with many of God's people is they talk like the world around them, instead of talking what the Word of God says. Then, they are surprised when they find themselves in a big mess.*

*I meet folks, who have messed up with one failure after another, who only talk about -- "what a failure I am." Too many people are on the sidelines of God's greatness lacking enthusiasm about their future, simply because they made mistakes and experienced failure along the way. Let me help us.... God is not looking for perfect people! If that were the case, we would all be disqualified. God is looking for a man/woman, who has a heart for Him. God wants a people who recognize they are helpless, unless Almighty God is involved in their lives.*

When those old thoughts come to mind saying, "You don't deserve anything from God," just respond with, "You're right! I don't deserve it, but that's what God's mercy is all about." Jesus the caretaker

If you're ruled by your emotions, jump off that rollercoaster! I've discovered over the years that I really can trust the Lord. Psalms 27:14 says, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." This "waiting" is not about sitting idly -- twiddling your thumbs, hoping for God to move in your life. It isn't about refusing to move until you have heard from God on the matter, but continuing to serve Him with all of your heart. You are always about "the Father's business." You continue to serve God with courage, power, strength, and confidence!

. God may not be early in your situation, but He's never late! I can hear the bugle blowing now! "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Proverbs 34:18.

When someone is hurting, they get God's attention! If a bird falls to the ground, He knows it. If a hair falls from your head, He knows it. The person who is hurting financially has God's attention. If you have been crushed by problems, or have been neglected, abused, or wronged, you have God's attention. He is right here to mend your broken-heart!

The first sermon Jesus ever preached said the reason He came was "to heal the broken hearted." Psalms 51:17 says, "A broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Satan would have you think God is not to be bothered with your problems, that He is not concerned about you. Even if you go to Him, nothing will happen, so why bother? God says, "Come unto me... I will give you rest." God says, "Call on me while I am near." God wants to touch the heart that is under attack. When your heart comes under attack by the enemy, run to the rock. Psalms 61:2 "From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Jump off that emotional rollercoaster, and run into the arms of a loving God!

Heart Blockage

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior." ~ Ephesians 4:31

Physically speaking it is possible to lose the vitality, strength, and stamina that you once had, even to the point of having pains in your chest! This could be a sign of heart trouble, caused by blockages in the arteries going to your heart. The good news is these blockages can be removed, and the result can cause you to return to a normal lifestyle.

The same is true in our spiritual lives! Bitterness, un-forgiveness, harsh words, anger, and resentments are all blockages that will cut-off the flow of God's blessings in our lives. These blockages will cause us extreme personal pain. We might say, "I'm just mad!" All of us go through times of personal anger, because of the injuries of others. However, when we hold these hurts of our past, they will poison our present, and destroy our future. These hurts of the past will make our lives miserable. They will consume us to the point we can think about nothing else, from the time we get up in the morning, until we go to sleep at night. Sometimes, hurts of the past will even keep us awake. They will get into our dreams. These hurts of our past move into our lives and take over our very existence. Remember, satan wants an atmosphere in which he can live comfortably, and that atmosphere is sin.

These blockages of emotional wounds must be removed from our lives! When they are, the steady river-flow of new life, blessing and victory, that God planned for us, will be created. After the removal of sin, there must be a renewal of our spirits. Verse twenty-four instructs us to, "... put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."

While satan feels at home in sin, Holy Spirit does not! Your enemy wants to use the events of your past to influence everything about you. He will paralyze you with fear and shame. However, when you forgive those who have wronged you, and release your past to your heavenly Father's loving care, you can walk in freedom. You can trade your sorrow for His joy. You can trade your shame for His peace, love, and victory. That is better than a heart by-pass! God removes the blockages, completely! Do you have a blockage that needs removal?

New name

The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.

(Isaiah 62:2)

On this day God is going to give you a new name. Henceforth, you will not be called a sinner or the child of a sinner but you shall be called the beloved of God. If you believe that you are a beloved child of God just place your hand on your chest and utter softly to God, “Lord! From this day I am Your beloved child. I will neither condemn myself by having an attitude of self-pity nor allow satan to condemn me. People may forsake me but I trust and thank You because You love me with an everlasting love. I am Your beloved child. Nothing can separate me from Your love” (Romans 8:35).

Dear Friend! Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Look at the crucified Christ. He hung on the cross not because He was a sinners but for the sins committed by the entire mankind. It is stated in the Bible that everyone who hangs on the cross was a cursed person (Galatians 3:13). Jesus Christ became a curse for all the curses that came upon us. What are the curses? The curses are being born in sin, producing sorrows and deceiving others. Jacob cries out to God, “Lord! I am a deceiver”. God in His immense grace and mercy gave him a new name by calling him “Israel” making him prince with God (Genesis 32:28).

While Jesus Christ was hanging on the cross at Calvary, passersby and people who stood there mocked at Him saying, “He could not save Himself. How is He going to save others?” Jesus Christ cried out to the Father saying, “Father! Forgive them for they know not what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). He changed everything by uttering these words. Finally He gave His spirit into the hands of His Father (Psalm 31:5; Luke 23:46). Jesus Christ did not bother about the remarks that people made at Him. He took upon Himself our infirmities, iniquities and transgressions (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24). He was always concerned about pleasing His heavenly Father and did everything according to His will. On the third day He rose up again Victor over death and sin. Since Jesus Christ has taken all the curses upon Himself you need not fear about any curses. You are not a cursed person anymore when you look up to Jesus Christ.

On this wonderful day which the Lord has made for you to rejoice, just cry out to Him. He will change your sinful, deceiving, sorrowful and cursed name into a new name that is blessed by God. Jesus means the Saviour – the One who saves us from all sins and curses. The Saviour will abide with you in your heart when you invite Him in. There is no need for you to change your name but God will change your life from inside out. On this day when you surrender your life to Jesus Christ He will give you a new name.

I Am Determined

Are you a winner, or a quitter? "Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you." Galatians 5:1 (MSG) Faith is the determining factor to successful living. We know this, yet continue to fail to take measures to strengthen our faith. Faith is a simple trust in God! The key to successful living is trust. Romans 10:17 says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Notice, it did not say, "heard." "Hearing" is a present-tense practice! We cannot continue to grow with what we have heard. We must keep on hearing -- repeatedly! I was recently with a friend who said, "Repetition produces establishment." He also said, "What you determine in your heart today will guide your decisions tomorrow."

Think of the awesome power of faith! Your faith saves you! "By grace you have been saved, through faith..." Ephesians 2:8 Your faith pleases God! "Without faith it is impossible to please God..." Hebrews 11:6 Your faith frees you! "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 Your faith gives you access to God! "In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence." Ephesians 3:12 Your faith is the power in your prayer life! "The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up..." James 5:15 As you determine to follow Christ, you will see God's hand of blessing, and victory will unfold before you in every area of your life!

Many Christians view the concept of "faith" like a convenient light switch. You turn it on and off, as you need it! Faith, however, is not so much an act, but it is a perspective that drives us to act in any situation like the one we really believe in, God. We actually believe and have confidence that He will act on our behalf. According to Jim Cymbala's book, "Fresh Faith," to grow in our faith, we must learn to trust in the promises of God. He has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams! Why? He loves us, and, He wants us to bless others. This is the process of the kingdom. This is part of the covenant blessing. We are not a depository of the outpouring of God's blessings. We are a channel through which God's blessings can flow out to others.

We are blessed to be a blessing! We must understand this, and it must be part of our covenant with God. It is our mission and mandate as a local expression, as a member of the body of Christ... the Church! We are blessed so we can invest our gifts to serve eternal purposes. The parable of the talents in Matthew 25 clearly points out that we have been given gifts to use, and we are called upon to make wise choices with those gifts. Only what we do for eternity has any real merit... and the only way to affect eternity is to be faithful with our talents and gifts.

We are blessed... so, let us set our course to... 1.) Love the lost! 2.) Commit ourselves to the community of faith! 3.) Engage our talents and gifts for eternal purposes! God has called all of us to this process of blessing. You are blessed...to be a blessing! You are a Success Maker! Your future will find its greatest fulfillment in this principle. Jeremiah 29:11-13 states: "I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Glory to GOD

Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.

(Psalm 50:23)

When we keep praising God with a heart of gratitude, the glory of God shall be revealed in our life. His grace also increases in our life in order to reveal His glory. The Lord expects only a heart of gratitude from us. It is stated in the Bible, “For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God” (2 Corinthians 4:15).

Ten lepers came to the Lord Jesus and requested Him to heal them from their leprosy. The Lord blessed them and sent them away. On their way back all of them were healed through the power of God. But only one Samaritan came back to the Lord and thanked Him. The heart of Jesus was really pained (Luke 17:12-19). Once a lady known to us, lovingly invited us to her home to have a meal. We too accepted her invitation and went to her house. When we sat around the dining table she told me, “Sister, I had an opportunity to participate in one of your meetings. During the message you said that we have to pray and praise God before every meal. You also said that when we do that nothing shall harm us. I strictly follow your advice everytime I have a meal. I have also taught my children to do that.”

My mother taught me a valuable lesson even while I was a child. Whenever we buy something new whether it is a pen or a pencil we have to take it first to the church and pray before using it. We must wear our new dresses first to the church and offer thanks to God for providing it. Dear Friend! When you get a new dress wear it first to the presence of God and offer your thanks. Then the Lord shall bless you in an abundant measure. When you praise the Lord from the bottom of your heart, the grace of God automatically increases in your life. The Bible also says, “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me” (Psalm 50:23).

Prayer:

Loving heavenly Father,

I place before Your nail-pierced feet all my unbearable worries and burdens. Please transform my life to love You and serve You more. Help me to seek You and Your kingdom first. I firmly believe that You will change everything in my life and will bless me from today onwards. All praise, thanks and glory belong to You.

How does God speaks to "YOU"

"I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it; my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live." ~ Job 27:6

God speaks to us in many ways! One way is through that "still small voice," our conscience. Often, that is the voice of Holy Spirit directing you, encouraging you, or giving you an advance warning. When you feel uneasiness and unrest, the Lord may be saying, "Watch out, there's danger ahead." If you ignore these warnings, and continue down the path you have chosen, you could possibly experience destruction, heartache, and pain. Conscience is the voice of the human spirit.

God gave man a conscience! Conscience is the internal ability to discern what is right and what is wrong. The conscience is the source of all guilt. When we sin, or we are about to make a wrong decision, our conscience comes alive and condemns or warns us. Most Christians, however, live with a guilty conscience! This stems from a lack of teaching and understanding of the purpose of the cross of Jesus. That's why most prayer-life is based on begging, not believing! The miracle of the New Covenant is a clean conscience, according to God's Word. A spirit of condemnation is the greatest enemy to faith. We get the idea that until we "feel right," we have no "rights." God's blessings are not based on our gifts and talents, but on the work of Calvary, and the Person of Jesus Christ.

The cross opened up the doorway for us to enter into the Holy of Holies! In the Old Testament, only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies. There was a huge veil there (60 ft. high) that separated the Ark of the Covenant (representative of the presence of God) from the rest of the area. When Christ died on the cross, that veil was torn in two -- from top to bottom, because Christ's body had been torn in two. Your conscience, therefore, was your greatest enemy before you were born-again, but your greatest friend after your salvation.

Never compromise! Never compromise in your marriage, your business, or with your family. Listen to the "still small voice" inside that warns you of possible danger, and obey it. When you do, you will stay on God's best path, and enjoy the life of victory and abundance that He has in store for you -- with no regrets!

what is in your mind

Your thoughts determine your future! You cannot make a decision, or make a move, without first thinking about it, and it changes the course of your life. The way you think will determine your success or failure. That's why it's so important to keep your thoughts on God's Word, and seek His plan for your life. Proverbs 23:7 says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." My Friend, you just cannot think negative thoughts and expect a positive outcome. Change your thoughts, and it will change you!

In your relationships, are you a conformer or a transformer? Align your thoughts with Christ and He'll begin to align your relationships with His will. There are two kinds of people in relationships: thermometers and thermostats. A thermometer conforms to the temperature around it. It registers what the temperature is, and you know the temperature of the environment by looking at the thermometer. It doesn't affect the temperature in any way. It only reflects it! A thermostat, on the other hand, controls the environment! It has a specific setting that it's "tuned-to." If the temperature doesn't measure up to that setting, the thermostat kicks in and turns on the heat, or the air-conditioner, and causes the temperature to adjust... until it falls into line with the thermostat's setting. Thermostats are agents of change! A thermometer conforms to its environment; a thermostat transforms its environment.

We are called to be transformers, not conformers in our world, and in our relationships! However, most of us are thermometers. We can tell you the temperature of our relationships, but we cannot do much about it. If we're going to affect change in our relationships, in our community, and in our world, we must become transformers. We must become thermostats!

We become thermostats by changing our minds, and therefore, aligning our thoughts with the mind of Christ! Our minds will only be changed, when we immerse ourselves in God's Word, the Bible, on a regular basis. His Word equips us for every good work. It prepares us for life and for the relationships we have in life. It is the Word of God and only the Word of God that can change our minds, and equip us to be thermostats in our relationships.

God wants to give you a breakthrough

God wants to give you a breakthrough—a sudden burst of His favor; an explosion of His goodness. He wants to release His power in such a way that it overwhelms you and drives out your enemies! Maybe you have been praying about a relationship for years, and suddenly, things get into place. That’s a breakthrough. Or you were trying to get a certain job. They said there were no openings; but suddenly, they call you back and you get the job. That’s another breakthrough. Perhaps you have struggled with an addiction for a long time, but then something happens and it’s not a struggle anymore. Those are all breakthroughs. No matter what you’ve been facing, no matter how impossible things look, know this: the God of the breakthrough wants to visit your house. Get ready! Look for His favor and goodness. Remember, God rewards the people who seek after Him. So keep expecting, keep believing because the God of the breakthrough is ready to overwhelm you with His goodness today! Bible say in 2 Samuel 5:20 “…the Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like the bursting out of great waters…” Prayer for Today: Father in heaven, today I am expecting Your goodness. I am looking for Your favor. I’m trusting that You, the God of the breakthrough, are working mightily on my behalf. Help me to live a life pleasing to You as I wait for Your hand to move mightily in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.

(Proverbs 10:2

God looks at the mountains and says, "'But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come home. I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown, and I will multiply the number of people upon you, even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt” (Ezekiel 36:8-10). God is an incomparable Father who is concerned about the well being of His children.

The Almighty God says, “I have to prepare the land where My people are going to live and multiply with blessings.” The love and compassion in the heart of our God whom we serve and love cannot be fathomed.
The Bible attests that Jesus Christ loved His disciples till the end (John 13:1).

He lovingly asks His disciples, “Children! Have you eaten?” (John 21:5). He cares for you (Psalm 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7). He enquires about your well-being. He desires to know about how you are progressing. He is interested in every minute detail of your day to day activity. Is there no one to care for you? Do you have no permanent place of shelter? Does your child treat you spitefully? Do they hurl words at you that pierce your soul like arrows? Are you forsaken by your parents for following Christian principles? Are you being fired at your workplace? Do you feel unwanted in your classroom? It is to people such as these, who are traversing through valleys of dry bones, like sorrows, sufferings, sickness tears, trials, temptations and tribulations, who experience some sort of an emptiness that God says, “I have a place for you.” (Deuteronomy 32:13).

God calls His children to ride on high places. The heart of God is thrilled when His children are returning to Him. God is concerned that you live in great comfort. God wants to shower His favour upon you. Unlike men He will not condemn, criticize or cast you away. The first promise that God offers is to multiply the number of people and make them settle down on the mountain.

God will multiply the number of people who are lifted to high places. Surely God will lift you and your household to high places and help you to enjoy abundant blessings.

Prayer:

Loving heavenly Father!

You are my only hope in this world that is filled with wicked and evil people. From today onwards, let Your holy presence surround me on all sides and protect me. Please do not forsake me but hold my hand and lead me at all times. In the prayer answering name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I pray.

words can hurt or heal

"Let no foul or polluting language come out of your mouth." ~ Ephesians 4:29

If someone brought a lethal weapon into your home, you would be terribly upset! You would probably call the police. If someone brought a lethal weapon into your Church, the ushers should ask them to check it at the door, but they really couldn't, because it comes attached. I'm speaking, of course, about the tongue.

Do you ever stop to think how your hurtful words can cut deeply into someone's heart? The typical response is "but you know I didn't mean it." If you didn't mean it, why say it? Things are said out of anger, or just plain thoughtlessness. Remember the television commercial a few years ago when the little boy ran into the house, slamming the screen door and yelling, "Hey, Mom, I got two A's." The Mom responded, "How many times have I told you to quit slamming that door?" You could see the excitement immediately leave the boy's face, as he was utterly destroyed by his Mom's words. Your words have the power to hurt or heal, pollute or purify. Does what you say help or hurt? Do your words do the person good, or damage and discourage him in some way? Are your words constructive? Do they build up the person you are talking to and encourage him, or do they tear him down?

We are sometimes careless with our words! Words should be used as tools of communication, not as substitutes for weapons. We say things in such a way that it hinders others in their walk with God. We, sometimes, injure a friend and damage the relationship -- with our words. We just should not do that! Here are three criteria for consciously governing our choice of words: 1.) Is it helpful? 2.) Is it constructive? 3.) Is it needful?

The point is not that God wants us to repress the truth, or be silent about spiritual issues and accountability! If we know God wants us to speak to a friend about a spiritual issue that we are concerned about, then we are to go to that person. Go with a clear understanding of our scriptural responsibility, with a heart-to-heart talk for clarification, and share our concerns. We should be ready to encourage and pray for that person. The positive, encouraging words we speak will open the door to all God has for us!

HAVE FAITH

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.(Romans 10:17)
The Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. He died and was buried. Mary Magdalene had great love for Jesus Christ because it was He who delivered her from the clutches of seven evil spirits that tormented her. Mary Magdalene came to the tomb with a heart of gratitude early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark (1 Timothy 1:5).

She was shocked to see that the stone had been removed from the entrance of the tomb. Immediately shran to the disciples and informed them about it. When Peter and John the beloved disciples of the Lord went into the tomb, they realized that the body of Jesus was not there. But they saw the strips of linen lying there.

The disciples returned without knowing what to do. But Mary stood outside the tomb crying. The Lord Jesus who rose up from the dead according to His promise, knew the true love of Mary and so He appeared to her first after His resurrection. The main reason for Mary to receive this great privilege which was denied even to His disciples, was that she, “believed in Him even while she did not see Him.” “…faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).

Mary Magdelene who ministered with the Lord, listened to His message and received firm faith. For our faith to be firm we have to listen to His words carefully and receive them in our heart (Ezekiel 3:3; Jeremiah 15:16). This firm faith shall help us to face all the struggles in our day to day life.

Dear Friend! The word of God alone can instill faith in us. The extent to which we honour the word of God to that extents His blessings shall come upon us. Accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, get rooted and established in Him leading a life of righteousness. Be strengthened in the faith and overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6,7). Then as declared by Paul the Apostle with so much confidence, the Lord shall enable us also to lead a victorious life, fight a good battle, keep our faith, so that when we go to heaven we can receive the crown of righteousness. On this day, let the world see your works of faith. Examine where you could shine your light that your Father in heaven may be glorified on this day.

Prayer:

Loving heavenly Father,

Unworthy as I am, I come to Your throne of grace not by the works that I have done but by Your immense mercy trusting that You have given me the authority to call you “Abba Father”. I request You to crown this day with Your perfect grace. Bless me throughout this month, that I may experience bountiful blessings in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray.
